Thanks in Kind ("we", "us") operates this website and store. This policy explains how we collect, use and share personal information when you visit, make a thank-you card, buy from us or contact us. Our store is hosted on Shopify, which provides the e-commerce platform.
Information we collect
Information you give us: your name, email address, billing details and order details when you check out, and anything you send when you contact us or join our email list.
Card and recipient information: the names, messages, photos and other content you add to a card, and for mailed cards, the names and mailing addresses of the people you send to, including any lists you paste or upload.
Payment information: payment is processed by Shopify and its payment partners. We do not see or store your full card number.
Automatically collected: device, browser, IP address and pages viewed, through cookies and similar technologies. We also use IP address to apply fair usage limits on our free tools.
How we use it
To create and deliver your digital cards, print and mail your paper cards, process payments and provide customer support.
To send order emails, and marketing emails only if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
To keep the site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve our products and website.
To comply with legal obligations.
We use recipient names and addresses only to produce and mail the cards you order. We do not market to your recipients.
Sharing
We share information with service providers that help run the site and store, such as Shopify, payment processors, our printing and mailing fulfillment partner, the postal service, hosting, writing and translation tools, email and analytics tools. We also share information when required by law or to protect our rights. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use paid advertising networks.
Cookies
We and Shopify use cookies to run the store (for example the cart and checkout) and to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies in your browser settings.
Children
The site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example California, the EU/EEA or the UK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal information, or to object to or limit certain processing. Retention
We keep order records as long as needed for accounting, tax and legal purposes. We keep recipient addresses only as long as needed to fulfill your order and handle any reprint or refund request. We keep marketing data until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, with appropriate safeguards where required.
